About Eurosifter

The Problem

Excessive fines in wood pellets can lead to two major problems with combustion of wood pellets.

• Constriction of pellet flow to the in-feed auger may cause uneven feed to the boiler.
• Boilers are calibrated to burn wood pellets and since fines will burn faster than wood pellets, excessive fines in the combustion chamber will cause the burner to burn too hot.

This can lead to ash sinter/slag formation in the combustion chamber, leading to inefficient and uneconomical operation of the burnerand increased maintainence downtime.

The Solution

It is important to ensure that there is minimal fines content at the closest possible point of delivery to the customer.

To solve this problem, Eurofab have developed the Eurosifter T-100 to filter out fines at the final point of dispatch to the consumer. This is particularily important when the delivered pellets are to be blown into a silo, where the physical action may lead to a further increase in the amount of fines.

Buffer Vessels

Buffer vessels are used as a thermal store with biomass, woodchip or pellet boilers as well as with conventional coal, gas and oil boilers. The buffer tank, as the name suggests, provides a buffer to absorb fluctuations in supply and demand in the system.
